10,000 Mile Maintenance


Change engine oil and filter


Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks


Inspect air cleaner and service as required


Check tire pressure and inspect tread


Change primary chaincase lubricant


Check and adjust clutch and clutch cable free play


Check clutch fluid level and condition


Inspect drive belt and sprockets


Inspect compensator sprocket isolators for wear at each tire change


Check, adjust, and lube throttle, brake and clutch controls


Inspect and lube jiffy stand


Inspect fuel valve, lines, and fittings for leaks


Check brake fluid sight glass


Inspect brake pads and discs for wear


Inspect spark plugs


Check operation of electrical equipment and switches


Lubricate steering head bearings


Check air suspension pressure, operation and for leakage


Inspect windshield bushings


Lubricate hinges and latches on fuel door, carrier and saddlebags


Check tightness of critical fasteners


Inspect clean and tighten battery connections. Check battery voltage


Inspect exhaust system for leaks, cracks, and loose or missing fasteners or heat shields


Road test



We are asked all the time what do you for scheduled maintenance?  Well, it depends on make and model but we reference a service checklist that is similar to the one listed in your owners manual.  Call us at 661-294-5045 for all your scheduled motorcycle maintenance.


  1. Drain and replace engine oil; examine condition. Replace drain plug O-ring and torque to proper specification.

  2. Remove and replace oil filter.

  3. Drain and replace primary chaincase lubricant; inspect condition. Replace drain plug O-ring and torque to proper specification.

  4. Drain and replace transmission lubricant. Examine fluid condition. Replace drain plug O-ring and torque to proper specification.

  5. Inspect oil lines for leaks, contact or abrasions.

  6. Inspect front brake pads and discs. Check pad thickness specification. Inspect front brake lines for leaks, contact, or abrasions.

  7. Inspect front tire tread depth and air pressure; adjust as needed. Check torque of all spokes (if equipped).

  8. Inspect rear brake reservoir for proper level.

  9. Check rear air suspension pressure, operations, leakage.

  10. Inspect rear tire tread depth and air pressure; adjust as needed. Check torque of all spokes as needed.

  11. Inspect rear brake pads and disc. Ensure pad thickness is within specification.

  12. Inspect rear brake line for leaks, contacts, or abrasions.

  13. Inspect and lubricate jiffy stand.

  14. Inspect and adjust drive belt. Inspect wheel sprocket.

  15. Inspect exhaust system for leaks, cracks, and loose or missing fasteners or exhaust shields.

  16. Inspect clutch assembly adjustment. Ensure adjuster screw free-play and locknut torque.

  17. Lubricate the fuel door, tour-pak carrier, and saddlebag hinges, latches, and locks.

  18. Check battery and clean connections.

  19. Inspect fuel lines and fittings for leaks, contact, or abrasion.

  20. Lubricate clutch cable. Ensure proper cable adjustment and hand lever free play.

  21. Inspect and lubricate brake and clutch hand levers.

  22. Check operation of all electrical equipment, lighting, and consoles.

  23. Lubricate steering head bearings
