How often should I change my oil?

First, check your service manual/owners manual.  Then consider your riding conditions and type of motorcycle. An air-cooled motorcycle ridden in hot weather should be changed more than a water-cooled in cold weather.  Also, if you take numerous short trips, engine oil performance will deteriorate, because small droplets of fuel will get into it. If you do not use your motorcycle very often or long-term storage it still should be changed with some frequency. Changing your oil is cheap insurance for a well-running motorcycle.
